The 2023 BMW X5 sDrive40i specs deliver a smile-inducing driving experience thanks to the standard turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, rear-wheel drive, and eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard on the xDrive40i. The standard configuration produces 375 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque for a peppy and pleasant ride. The other powertrain option is a plug-in hybrid xDrive50e. BMW includes the same 3.0-liter engine as the sDrive40i, and the automaker paired that engine with the eDrive 194-horsepower electric motor. The hybrid powertrain achieves 483 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It delivers an EPA-estimated combined fuel rating of 58 MPGe and about 39 miles of all-electric range, which is about 10 miles more than the 2023 model.
